Journey to Europe

I just came back from a 6-day journey. I spent 3 days in Spain and 3 days in France and it was phenomenal. You can read more about my itinerary here!

If I had to sum up this trip in 1 word it would be Healing.

This trip was healing in many ways. Emotionally, mentally and spiritually, I accomplished a dream that I had been anticipating for years. From booking flights and hotels to navigating public transportation and walking 20,000 steps a day; my heart was healing in places I didn’t know I needed.

If I had to sum it up in 2 words it would be Life Altering.

It was amazing to see how other countries operate. To hear different languages and enjoy small pieces of their culture is something I'll always cherish. My life is forever altered thanks to the food I enjoyed, the people I met, and the infinite memories I created.

If I had to sum it up in 3 words it would be Just Get There.

I wish I could say this trip came without challenges. It didn’t, but with every challenge, I continued to hear the phrase, just get there. That was my internal motivation as I navigated my itinerary. On day 3, I was faced with an unexpected $350 challenge. I could either pay the money and continue my trip or end my trip and lose money. In spite of fear, challenges and setbacks, I chose to do whatever it took to get there. The value of my perseverance was 10x greater than the money I spent.

If I had to sum up this trip in 4 words it would be Experience. Adventure. Enlightening. Awakening. This trip was an experience full of adventure. As I stepped into the unknown, I was enlightening and awakened to the courageous parts of me that learned how to overcome challenges. I met a version of myself that I didn't know existed and that changed my life.

I am a solo traveler.

This wasn't the first trip I took by myself and it won't be the last. I don’t want to be afraid to do anything. No matter what situation I face, I never want fear to be the reason for my actions. I want to go. I want to explore and experience life. I want to be free. There are a lot of people in this world who want the same thing, but they are afraid to leave. If freedom is the dream, don't let fear be an obstacle.

What are you most thankful for with this trip?

That's easy! People. I’m thankful for the amazing people I met in Seville, Barcelona, & Paris.

The lady in Seville that helped me with my luggage when I had coffee in my hands.

The lady in Seville who needed something off the top shelf and I was able to help her get it down.

Tammy and Bryan, the first American couple I had conversation with in Paris. Bryan, I pray that you are the pilot for my plane next time I visit Nevada.

Jenna and Alaa, the Arabic ladies who sat beside me at the famous Parisian restaurant, Carette. Your energy is unmatched. Thank you for your conversation and the fun pics.

Lastly, I can share I’m most thankful for my mom. As I was planning to go, I asked my mom for a Christmas gift. There was only one thing I wanted - needed- from her and that was her blessing. She knows I’m a solo traveler, and we typical have disagreements about it.(She is a typical mom, she struggles with letting go of her youngest child). I waited until a week before the trip to tell her I was going and for Christmas, she gave me the gift to go; a gift card for Delta Airlines. With this gift I knew she was giving me her blessings.

Thank you mom! Thank you for loving me enough to let me go.

Now that I have accomplished this journey, I’m grateful to be home and prepare for the next one! Follow along as I share more about this trip and other adventures I take. My biggest desire for this blog is to inspire YOU to dream big dreams, believe in yourself and achieve!
