About us
Our mission is to educate and empower girls to experience the love of Jesus and share it with others. We educate and empower girls to follow God and follow their dreams.
Our vision is to be a community of resources to help young girls accomplish their dreams.
DreamGirls Ministry teaches young girls to be successful by teaching them to follow their dreams. We focus on setting goals, overcoming obstacles, and celebrating when they accomplish their goals.
Our community is composed of parents who love their daughters, brothers who protect their sisters and friends and family members who want to be successful. If you have a daughter, a sister, or a female friend that you want to be successful, then you should be a part of our community! Attend a community event, share the word on social media or donate to support the work this ministry completes. Your financial support allows us to impact the current and future generations of young ladies.
We believe in the Word of God. We are a Christian organization that believes Jesus loves you and nothing will change that according to Romans 8:28. Because of this, we prioritize love and desire for each girl to have an encounter with the love of Jesus.
We believe that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them, according to Philippians 4:13. Likewise, we use Proverbs 3:5-6 as our anchor scripture and we believe God has given us a promise for success when we trust in Him, lean on His understanding and acknowledge Him in all our ways.
Our
Founder
The First DreamGirl
DreamGirls was founded by Kanisha Fowler in June 2014. Kanisha was completing her senior year of college at the school of her dreams, where she developed her passion to help others overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.
Kanisha was on track to graduate from Gardner-Webb University, but she almost dropped out when she encountered financial hardship. Through hard work, support from family and guidance from mentors, Kanisha graduated in 2015 with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations.
During this season, Kanisha learned how to use faith and hard work to experience success. Now she teaches DreamGirls to do the same thing.
Philippians 3:14 was her anchor scripture during this season and it is the anchor scripture for this ministry.
