Quiet.
The Airbnb I rented in Seville was extremely quiet. As I wrestled with thoughts and anxieties from being far from home, I did it safely within the historic apartment, formerly owned by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer, a spanish writer from the 1800's (I mean, how perfect is that).

Challenging.
Spain was full of challenges. Was it because of my lack of knowledge or my apprehension? From needing an adapter for my phone charger to navigating the train station using Eurail, a third party company that provides access to different train routes; every day felt like I had a new challenge to overcome and it was hard.
But every challenge proved I was strong enough to persevere, and the mental/emotional strength I discovered while doing so was BEAUTIFUL. The daily feeling of achievement was an unmerited reward that I didn't expect to receive.

Peaceful.
Spain was peaceful. As I visited Seville, Madrid and Barcelona, each city resulted in a sense of internal peace and connection. I rested, I overcame challenges, and I enjoyed God’s presence. I couldn’t ask for anything else!
Spain was a reminder to slow down and tackle daily challenges with grace and love. As I'm home, reflecting back on my trip, that is something I'm making sure to remember and implement.
